Nick Faldo

Nick Faldo is one of the most popular British Golfers in the world. He has won an unprecedented three Open Championship titles as well as three US Masters Championships. He has also earned the #1 Ranking for the Official World Golf Rankings for 98 weeks.

Nick Faldo was born on July 18th, 1957 and was born in the city of Welwyn Garden City located in England. He turned pro in 1976 and was considered one of the best golfers in the world during the late 1980’s and early 1990’s era. He won the Open Championship at St. Andrews back in 1990 and won by six shots. In 1992 he held the record for winnings at an amazing £1,558,978.

Nick Faldo has also been named captain to the Ryder Cup in 2008. Team USA eventually won by a huge margin of 16 ½ to 11 ½ which put Team Europe’s winning streak to an end. It was also the largest margin of victory since 1981 over 26 years ago.

Nick Faldo also has worked as an analyst for CBS sports and was hired to be the lead analyst for golf. He started on October 3rd replacing Lanny Wadkins.  Faldo has also missed the masters tournament in 2007 in which he has won the tournament three times and is a crowd favourite. It was also in 1997 that Faldo did win the Nissan Open which is played at Pacific Palisades California.
